Do you have an Etsy blog?

Lots of shopowners on Etsy have blogs, and some of the ones I read are:

http://inthenightkitchen.wordpress.com/
Run by Amy Esther, who makes awesome pottery and also occasionally offers Etsy writing critiques.

http://omglia.blogspot.com/
OMG Lia?'s blog, that even has helpful hints on how to earn more money on the Internet.

The queen of kitschy charm jewelry has a blog full of fun stuff.

Etsy Shop Review: Homestudio2

This is a sister shop of Homestudio, and has the same level of customer service and quality product. I ordered a set of six magnets and chose four floral designs, a koi fish and my "Keep Calm" in pomegranate. I love them! They have REALLY strong magnets on the back of the awesome designs, and came in a round metal tin that the magnets stick to (until I decide where to put them on my fridge).

This shop also offers mirrors, and it (and the original Homestudio) proves that a shop doesn't need to have a million different types of items to be successful. They do their specific things (pendants, mirrors, magnets) very well, and have lots of sales to prove it.

PROS: Very fast shipping, great quality and variety
CONS: None!

Etsy Shop Review: Homestudio

Recently, when I was looking at the Etsy Wiki page on Wikipedia, I saw Homestudio on the list of top sellers in the jewelry category. I immediately had to go to their shop to try and find out how and why they sold so much. When I got to the site, I was met with Scrabble pendants and I was puzzled because A) Etsy has tons of jewelry sellers, and B) Etsy has tons of Scrabble pendant sellers.

But a lot of things continued to draw me in. First were the gorgeous pictures, second were the wide variety of pendants, and third were the prices (and the lure of free shipping last week).

So I had to order a "Keep Calm and Carry On" pendant in Pomegranate.

I ordered it on Dec. 28 and it came in the mail less than a week later, in a nice satiny gray pouch. I loved it! It was the first Scrabble pendant I've ever bought but it won't be my last.

Plus, it's a nice reminder to not worry about the small stuff. :)

PROS: Fast shipping, great service, wide variety of pendants
CONS: None!

Etsy shop review: Kung Fu Cowgirl

Okay, kungfucowgirl is one of my favorite shops on Etsy. Just looking at her items will make you smile. There are ice cream cone and popsicle erasers, sparkly star earrings, cute bags and adorable pins and magnets, like this pancake magnet that I bought along with others that included a chocolate chip cookie, sugar cookie and carton of milk. Adorable!

Shipping was insanely fast and she also included a tiny bag of treasures like star erasers and apple-scented stickers. If I won a free shopping spree from Etsy, this is the first store I'd go to and fill my cart with all kinds of adorable stuff! Highly recommended!

PROS: Very cute selection of items, fun extras with your order, very fast shipping
CONS: Is Etsy giving away any shopping sprees yet?? :)

Etsy shop review: Peg Anders

Next up in my series is Etsy seller Peg Anders, who sews wallets, coasters, bags and lots more. I saw this sweet monkey in a pretty pink dress and figured she needed to live at my house. :) Shipping was super fast, and cheap as well. Peg had wrapped her up in fabric and it was adorable. She also included a handmade keychain with her store address on it, and had great communication. I left really good feedback and also bought a business card holder from her. She's highly recommended!

PROS: Very cute item, great communication, fast and cheap shipping
CONS: None!

Etsy shop review: Sonya

Welcome to my new blog! I hope to finally start my Etsy shop soon. Inventory is piling up and I need to make room for more, so keep watching for updates!

First, I've decided to do reviews of shops I've purchased from on Etsy. I'm starting out with the first shop I ever purchased from, about a year ago. I saw Sonya's cute, colorful Mighty Mini Pouches and couldn't resist! I love the brown and blue combination and anything spirally, so I chose the Brown n Blue Spyro design.

Since it was my first Etsy purchase I was kind of excited and couldn't wait to get it. Unfortunately, I never got any communication from Sonya after the purchase, and shipping was a little slow. But the bag was well-made and cute. It even closes with a strong snap.

Sonya also used to have much harsher-sounding policies in her shop but she has changed those. Overall, I'd recommend her products.

PROS: Cute bags, so many designs to choose from, well-made
CONS: Slow shipping, lack of communication
